The offshore segment seems to have a more transient operational nature, demanding high product support expectations. This seminar attempted to address this and to establish TSL’s service capabilities and offerings crafted for the marine offshore segment.
30 customers, representing close to 20 companies in the marine offshore industry, attended the event. Our guest speaker, Dave Dunlevy, an Engine Product Manager at the Caterpillar Marine Center of Excellence in Greenville, South Carolina, USA, presented Caterpillar’s latest engine product developments.
The agenda covered various topics – from the latest infrastructure expansion and manpower enhancement at TSL through marine-specific training, to new product and service offerings.
We felt our customers were appreciative of the immense engine overhaul experience we’ve gained over the years, as this reflects the technical competencies of the TSL service team. Moreover, customers gained a better understanding of how Condition Management, with an emphasis on using their in-house Scheduled Oil Sampling analysis (S•O•SSM Services) and the functionality of the Electronic Technician (ET), supports engine health and condition monitoring.
Additionaly, the recently released 3500 Reman Top End Overhaul Kits and the upcoming Emissions Upgrade Kits, designed to meet IMO and Tier I/II emissions regulations, as well as the Extended Service Coverage (ESC) and Overhaul Protection Coverage (OPC) products offered by Cat Insurance, found broad interest among our customers.
These topics were complemented by our on-site exhibits where customers were able to see the Cat® C18 Generator Set as well as the 3500 Reman Top End Overhaul Kit. The ET demonstration and the PartStoreTM Integrated Procurement System (PSIP) also generated a lot of great discussion.
From our point of view, this event was very effective and valuable. We very much enjoyed meeting our customers and having great conversations with them. But to build on the success we had with this first seminar, we’d like to know your thoughts. If you attended this seminar, we would love to learn more about your experiences and what you liked most and least. Even if you didn’t take part, let us know what expectations you would have for such an event. What topics would you like to have covered by us, the Dealer, and by Caterpillar, the manufacturer?
Please share your thoughts and ideas to ensure that our next seminar will exceed all expectations!
