Cat® PartStoreTM is another purchasing channel for our customers. Customers from around the world, across any industry or segment, have been able to purchase parts online through this electronic portal. The top three benefits of purchasing parts through PartStore are that customers can access the customer version of SISweb, have visibility to part inventories, and are able to view their part price. With a simple click of a button, the latest part number will be reflected before completion of the transaction. Above all, it is available to customers at no cost. They can simply register with the desired dealers for an account.
For many of our marine customers, PartStore would be a valuable purchasing portal. However, most have their own procurement system already. Companies providing enterprise ERP or procurement marketplace offer an alternative solution to our customer enterprise. One such resource most of our customers have installed is ShipServe. ShipServe is an online marketplace, providing an entire suite of services throughout the transactional value chain. This includes searching for dealers/traders, requesting quotations, and booking transactional queries into their accounts.
With such enterprise platforms available and in place, the PartStore team has a backend system known as PSIP, which strives to integrate existing customer connections to the PartStore hub. Technical connection trials have shown promising results for both systems being able to work hand in hand, bringing the best of both worlds to our valued marine customers.
In the light of this, there may be other procurement/marketplace systems in the world that our marine customers are using. We would love to understand what some of our major Cat marine customers currently have in place.
