I am having a problem w/my 96 3176 cat engine. It sat for several years & it ran fine when I parked it. Now it won,t start. I drained the fuel tank & filled & installed new filters. I have fuel pressure @ the air bleed. I want to check the fuel pressure. I found a plug on top of the filter housing but it is a standard thread not a pipe thread. Is that the only place to check pressure & if so what kind of fitting do I need to connect my fuel pressure gauge & where would I find it ? I have been to several parts & hardware stores. THNX

Hello,I,m back.I had pneumonia & the truck is outside so I thought I should stay in. Is the part # you list for a replacement plug or a fitting that I can attach a gauge to? I have the oem plug. The reason that I am checking the pressure is that it won,t start. It sat for a couple of years, ran great when I parked it but it won,t start now. I drained the fuel tank, added new fuel, changed the filters but it still won,t start.I was told that it might be the fuel pressure. I just went out & took the plug out after sitting since we talked last,& it had pressure still.Do you have any ideas why it wont start?
