Cruising this weekend, noticed port engine RPM dancing around 2400 RPM, which is normal cruise.  Went to throttle up and light black smoke emitted, with turbo whine (sounding like lack of fuel).  At 2300, engine ran as normal, but cannot turn over 2400 - it starts to stutter.  When back at the dock, noticed light soot which never occurs.  Engine starts fine and turns up to spec, no load.

Fuel filters changed ASAP - problem still exists.

Coolers, heat exchangers and impellers cleaned/replaced over the past month.  Boat ran fine for the last 20hours since commissioning.

Thinking possible injector or turbo problem.  What should I trouble shoot next to determine cause prior to calling in CAT Tech?

did you change both the primary and secondary filters?

Problem resolved by changing Racors....thanks for assistance
