Re: 3208 TA -1990 overheating

Today i have dismounted and cleaned the after heater. It dosn't seam to have any stopps, the air side was full of oil from the crank ventilation. I also cheked the cooler at he gear. It seems ok. I will change the swith omorrow and put back the afterheater. It'salso possible to dismount and check flow just before it the seawater goes out through the combustions. If the flow is ok, there has to be somthing withbthe internal coolibg.

Re: 3208 TA -1990 overheating

Well, there was no fault in the aftercooler or the transmission cooler. It might be a air leak in te sea water system, i'm checking that and at them same time i will try a new temp sensor. Do any one know how the alarm is wired ? Is it just to the tem gauge or to the temp sensor ?

Problem solved It was the temperatur alarm switch on the top of the engine wich had a bad wire.
