Ok guys, getting to know my CAT's better everyday.
1. My starboard engine has a slight blue smoke coming from exhaust during warm up for about 10-15 minutes. After I get to the ocean and run her for a while and come back in no more smoke. Should I be concerned? Anything I can do or should do now? Any Help is much appreciated.
2. This same enigne sometimes give me a little trouble when throttling up, around 1900 RPM she stutters and does not want to climb up on the turbo's for a few seconds and then you will get a burst of power and the RPM and power jumps right up and runs fine. No smoke or anything when this happens. Port motor does not do this. Only seems to do it the first time I throttle up, if I back her down and run her back up she is fine. Shut her off at anchor for a few hours and then start her back up usually she is fine. Any ideas?
THANKS

hello
about the throtte lag it seems to me that the fuel ratio control which limits you fuel during acceleration is either adjusted a little different then the other engine or maybe the diagraph inside has a slight hole in it. causing a little air leak. when there is not enough pressure the fuel rack will be limited to prevent smoke during acceleration.
are you sure its blue smoke and not white/grey.
a little blue smoke if it disapears after 10 minutes is nothing to worry about.
good luck

Check your breathers , if the breathers go into the intake before the aftercooler you sometimes get the aftercooler gets blocked with sludge.
