During a recent ABS Inspection the 75% verfiy button was pushed on teh 3508 Gen set and nothing happen. My question, is the RPM pre-set in the ESS at the factory?

The engine has to be running above 75% of the adjusted trip speed for the ESS to trip, example, if you have a genset rated at 1800 rpm and adjust overspeed to 120%, overspeed setpoint is 2160 rpm, the 75% verify speed is 1620, the ratio is fixed in the ESS control, if it didn't work, you need to verify proper operation of the ESS switch, preferably using a function generator.
Hope that helps,
Mike L.
