I am looking to buy a 70 foot boat which has I am told twin cat 441 engines. The boat is 90 ton displacment steel hull built 1989. Before I get to see the vessel and have it surveyed and engines chesked etc. Can anybody tell me what a 441 engine is, is it 442 cubic inch ? Also interested in what kind of fuel consumption would one expect at 12 knot cruise speed. Finally as the boat is in Europe wouls spares still be available for such 20 year old motors.
Thanks
DRCJJ

I would recheck that model number as there is no 441 in the line up. Current or Legacy.
The fuel consumption would have to be determined during a trial or by getting an estimate from the boat builder; there are too many variables with the hull, props and other efficiencies to estimate from a purely engine point of view.
Good luck!
