MAK ENGINGE EXHAUST VALVE INSERTS CRACKING

We are experiencing cracks on the exhaust valve inserts for two MAK engines on a customer's cement factory...please does anybody
know what could be the problem be and what is the solution to this cracking.
your suggestions and inputs will be greatly appreciated.

One possible explanation could be the fresh water quality. We have seen similar problems -- what we call "Stress Cracking Corrosion" -- which is caused because of an incorrect mixture of fresh water additives in the HT-water system.
Could this explain it?
