Gentlemen,
Coolant discoloration can be the result of several conditions within your cooling system. When evaluating the following areas need to be looked at
Has there been any hi-temp or overheating issues with engine
What is the condition of the cooling system overall, ie. heat exchangers, radiators etc. scale, rust, and corrosive actions within the cooling system can contribute discoloration
Has the delta p been checked to verify there are not any flow issues in the system, "stalling" or restrictions in the coolant system can create hot spots which can discolor the coolant
Has the oil cooler been checked or cleaned recently?, Cross contamination from pin hole leaks in the bundle can allow trace amounts of oil to passed from the higher pressure oil side to lower pressure cooling system causing discoloration.
Finally has a coolant sample been taken and sent for level II analysis to determine the presence of contamination.
Hope this helps
