EMCP II+ uses CAT Data Link (CDL), it has no industry standard comms protocol interface.
You can use a CCM or PL1000E and convert the data, either directly of thru a convertor like from Monico.
There are a number of publications involved in getting al the information needed, you local dealer hopefully can help you out, also depends on the prime mover and application as to what data is available beyond the EMCP II's internal information for status, and electrical info.
What is the specific application?

Yes, a PL1000E can provide a Modbus TCPIP output of EMCP II+ data to your system. That being said, I just recentluy did a system with two gas engines that had EMCP II+ controls and we needed to get info to the switchgear and BOP system. Frankly I found the PL1000E documentation, setup and overall performance to be lacking, the time it took to get data out of the unit was excessive. I talked with a couple of dealer folks who have taken the plunge to be proficient with the PL1000 and it required some dedicated effort to figure out all the issues. Also it appears support from CAT on the device is nearly non-existent. You can find people who know parts of it, but to date haven't been able to find anyone who really knows it from start to end who has any kind of support role. I do know a controls engineer in one group who actually probably one of the best people of actually implementing them, and he admits he still struggles at times with it.
As an option I have taken a look at the Monico CDL Gateway, my current problem is that customer already paid for the PL1000E and isn't willing to plunk down another chunk of money on something we haven't seen actually work. So far most people I've talked to agree it's better than the PL1000E, but I think it's really going to depend on what engine, control panel, data types and update rates you're looking to get out of it.
Good luck, Mike L.

Mikel
We have used the Monico products quite extensively with older EMCP panels with much greater success than the PL1000. The most import thing to consider is to be thorough with Monico during the order process, we recently had them build us a custom HMI for one of our products.
