Sir,
Kindly suggest that my GAs( G3616 ) Oil pressure is going on high from last 4 to 5 days.
Normally that was 520 to 535 Kpa but now it has come to 560 kpa.
Pls suggest why it so happen?
Oil Hrs crossed 6500 running hrs and running Kw is 2300 kw.
Oil dfiferential is showing aroung 20 to 30 kpa which is routine. Oil Temp is 82 degree C.
kindly reply.
Regards,
James

Pls. check the Priority Valve. Also the pressure relief valve can be the culprit.

We had a similar problem, but cleared it by changing the filters, when we changed the oil. When it happens now, we change the filters at the first sign that pressure is going over normal state. This allows us to run with out changing oils for longer periods.
You could also try flushing out the system, before you put in new oil, as some times you get build-ups, that normal oil flow doesn't remove. This build-up usually occurs where there is a chance of settling, when the system is not in use.

FYI: All of our Cat equipment is probably older than what many dealers have on hand now, since we seldom scrap, junk, or salvage Cat equipment.
We also have Cat diesels installed in some of our older EMD GPs, using Cats as replacement for GM diesels, because Cats offer less polution, than GM EMD diesels.
It is our older uints which have had pressure problems in the past; but now we don't have that problem.
Have a great Cat day.

Try using Centrifuge in the lube oil system, you could have longeroil& filte rchange intervals ,centrufuge used to be standard fitment in both oil and fuel system in 1970s on board ships, i had used a centrifuge with Cummins 1000Kva sets on shore based installation and were pretty useful in saving Filter cost and extending overhall intervals.

With my side, having over 17 years experiences on the engines ( MTU-RUSSIA-CAT engines on Off-shore and On-shore), the better choice for your problem Engine Oil Pressure Increase is you should design the Centifugate Oil Filters System.![]()
