Hi,
Since you are from the dealership trust you will have access to TMI... If you can access the TMI with the part number of the bases on the base Engine AR... If you click on Retrive cross ref you will get a list of ratings the basic Engine iron will be suitable for by just changing the flash file... For your configuration the engine arrangement part no of 2666136 you will not find any 50 hz rating available... So converting the 2250 KW 60 hz to 50 Hz without hardware change is unfortunately not possible...
Hope this helps...

Actually i have changed this freqency without any iron change on about 50 units including C18 & C32. But YES, these units are originally 60Hz which let me convert them to 50Hz without any iron change. Converting to 60Hz from 50Hz, thats where you would need to change the radiator pulleys and turbo charger to give more power. Let me check myself if it is possible or not on 3516B.... give me any serial number of the respective genset (but dont forget we are talking about 60 to 50 conversion not 50 to 60 )
Regards

Hi I have some experience on 3516B engine conversion. pls mention your serial no of the package.whether it is Power module or open unit.
Confirm the unit is installed with EMCP11+ or EMCP3.1,3.2..... .There is an iron change on Turbo charger only but not on injector. If it is EMCP3.0 there is flash file to convert to 50Hz.(3021866).If you AVR is 50HZ/60Hz convertible. pls change it to 50Hz and set the voltage to 50Hz requirement in EMCP 3.0 configuration. For detail produce your serial no of package to conform 50Hz ECM flash file.
The power will reduce to 1825KW.

Educate me about the need to replace the turbo, please. Is it to get more or less power or rpm? Why does changing from 50hz to 60hz require modifying the engine?

You need do some work, but I think dealer will help you.
1. Compare 60Hz to 50Hz, find iron change and find part numbers.
2. Flash new file under CAT DSN adminance.
3. Change configuration in CDVR.
4. Change configuration in Control panel.
