Hello,

A remote radiator system for PGS, engine room need fan for ventilation to take heat out of the room.

I can install a fan in inlet-air location to pull the air into room or outlet-air location(exhaust)  to draw the air out of the room. There is no any application limits.

Which one is better for cooling effiency ? Do you have any site experience?

or in a another words, is positive pressure or negative presssure good for engine room cooling effect?

what size engine? Do you have an  A&I guide? Rule of thumb is to provide air flow of @ 8cfm per hp. If you drawing combustion air from the engine room increase that to 9.5 cfm per hp. Ideal air movement is from bottom to top but  end to end will work if your moveing enough.....

I want to know , Inlet  fan compare with outlet fan, for remote radiator system, in prime application, which one is better to maintain enough air flow, to control the room temp. rise if I just need add fan in one side. I do not want to add inlet fan and  outlet fan  which like a series fan system at the same time.

The inlet fan should be installed as low as possible, the outlet fan installed high point of the room, the heat radiated from engine&alternator would transfer the heat to air, but the hot air move upward, would these affect the selection of fan?

since hot air is light, put the exhaust (-) fan on top (as one of the blogger suggest), and the blower (+) fan anywhere below the genset house, behind the alternator or in any of the two sides of the genset. since you did not mention the size of the genset, just be sure your exhaust fan size will not result in the starvation of combustion air.  be sure also that the position of the two fans in the genset house, will not result in the positive fan, sucking-in the hot air the exhaust fan displaces from inside the genset room.  good luck !

Hi,

Since you are from the dealership suppose you have access to CAT A&I Guides.. please refer to LEBW 4791 on the Engine room ventilation.. This clearly explains the location of the vent fans and also the correction factors for various locations.. it also clearly states the unacceptable systems..
