Standards or Codes about loaded time

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is standards or codes which definite the permitted time about genset start and loaded?

The load time means time interval from Mains filure signal to loaded of genset, including mains check time, genset start time, transfer time.

Thanks firstly.

Re: Standards or Codes about loaded time

Yes there are codes that define the time required to energize the emergency bus in the event of an outage.

I would suspect that this differs depending where on the globe you are located.

Here in North America that time is 10 seconds (lights out to lights on) for "Life Safety" applications

Hospitals also have a specific code that outlines time criteria for different loads.

Re: Standards or Codes about loaded time

I believe there is very little across the board regulation in Europe in regards to load acceptance during an outage, there are some location by location regulations. The best answer would be to contact the local governing body to find out what codes / regulations that they are using if any. In North America NFPA provides code guidelines (not law)but their are some very different interpretations depending on the what state is the governing body.
