I've a PL1000E setup to grab data from an engine ECM, ITSM module on cat data link and a CDVR on J1939. On the PL1000 statistic page I can see CDL packets received and transmitted but on the J1939 I get increasing numbers on packets transmitted but no values on packets received. Why am I getting this problem? I can connect to the CDVR and other ecms through the embedded comms and no problems pinging the PL1000.

YEs, it can be done, just did it on a G3520E system.
Key is can you connect ET thru the embedded comm adaptor on J1939 and see the CDVR? If not you don't have the J1939 wiring correct, and as I remember the CAT documentation was not correct and the siwtchgear harness for the CDVR didn't have the J1939 wiring, so the dealer had to add it. Once you can see it on ET thru the embedded adaptor, then the PL1000E can pul the data.

yes I've the cdvr loud and clear on the embedded comms, I connected the cdvr CAN line directly to the pl1000e and yes I've the terminating resistors at either end. Thats why I'm kinda confused why I can't pull the data off pl1000e, one thing I can think off is pte files mismatched. Which pte file did you use? Can you send me the file you're using?

I doubt the Caterpillar J1939 PTE files was wrong, because same problem appear on EMCP3.3.
