G'day guys.
Can you tell me if there is safety legislation in the US that requires any excavators (used for craning action) to have anti burst valves fitted to prevent booms lowering in case of a hose blow out?
It has become law in Australia since 2010.
Thanks,
Tammy.

Both federal and state laws may or may not come into play to regulate such an item. The best suggestion would most likely to check your local STATE legislature guidelines. Many times state codes and statutes very from federal regulations.
A construction regulatory agency may have some generic verbage regarding safety matters such as OSHA or MSHA, NFPA, etc for certain guidelines.
Some of our states may and some may not. I would check with each state if you desire to know specifics.
