Hi All,
I am installing the 2x3516B Marine engine. The operation station is far from engines 100m, However, as i know, CAT only allow the distance up to 40m for J1939, so i intend to use a J1939 repeater put at control room (far from engine 25m) and set the baud rates at 500Kbps or 250Kbps, if any one who know about this, please give me advise on this or share your solution with me.
THank you in advanced.

Please use caution with any third party (non-CAT) device on the J1939 network. They have caused engine problems.
Here are two ways of solving this, 1) use two PL1000T configured for CAN Extension bridge. One unit in the engine room connected to both J1939 networks are converted to RS485 and sent to the second unit up to 1000FT. The second unit converts the RS485 back into two seperate J1939 signals. 2) Use a PL1000E to convert the engine data to Modbus and then use a Modbus display at your operator station.
