Need help with modbus addressing on PL1000E

Hi all, I currently involved in setting up a G3520c with a PL1000E sending engine parameter data to an external modbus monitoring system. Actually the programmer is having some problems setting up his PLC to read parameters with a 4 data lenghts. I'm not a programmer so I'm stuck trying to figure it out, could somebody please explain is 4 data lenght = 8 bytes of information = 2 holding registers? Is he suppose to set up his PLC to read 2 addresses together? For your info he's using a Prosoft 3150 MCM Modbus Comms Module..

The data lenghts in the parameter translation editor are in bytes.  So your answer is 4 bytes.

Re: Need help with modbus addressing on PL1000E

I've 3 parameters each with 4 data lenghts so for example I've the 1st parameter as 40050, how do I put the next 2 parameters? Do I keep it as 40051 and 40052 or would I've to skip 2 registers as in 40052 and 40054?

If the first parameter's data lenght is 4 at 40050 then the next parameter is at 40052.  Did the PL1000E come preprogramed?  You should be able to obtain a printout of all the parameters with modbus address and scaling information for your dealer.
